🏎️🔌 Rimac and Bugatti: A Hypercar Dream Team! ⚡

Car enthusiasts, hold onto your seats because this is automotive news like no other! The rumors have become reality – Rimac from Zagreb in Croatia and Bugatti from Molsheim in France are teaming up to create something extraordinary: Bugatti Rimac. Mate Rimac, the driving force behind this venture, announced that both companies will "pool our knowledge, technologies, and assets with the goal of creating very special projects in the future." 🚗🔧🌟

The Perfect Match!

Bugatti and Rimac will continue as separate brands, maintaining their existing factories and distribution networks. This groundbreaking collaboration aims to shape the future of Bugatti and Rimac vehicles by combining their resources and expertise.

This partnership will employ 430 talented individuals, with 300 at the new Bugatti Rimac headquarters in Zagreb, Croatia (located on the impressive €200 million Rimac Campus) and 130 at the Bugatti HQ in Molsheim, France.

What Lies Ahead?

While Bugatti and Rimac will continue producing the Nevera and Chiron respectively, the future holds exciting prospects. Beyond the Chiron era, Bugatti is heading towards electrification but with a twist. Rimac has confirmed the development of an all-new Bugatti model with a combustion engine, set to debut before the end of the decade. Additionally, a fully electric Bugatti model line is in the works, promising an electrifying future for the brand.

The Business Breakdown

The new Rimac Group is the umbrella company, with ownership divided as follows: Mate Rimac (37%), Porsche (24%), Hyundai Motor Group (12%), and other investors (27%). This group encompasses Bugatti Rimac (55% Rimac Group, 45% Porsche) and Rimac Technology (100% owned by Rimac Group). Rimac Technology will continue its independent work on EV powertrains, batteries, and components, collaborating with global car companies.

Porsche plays a pivotal role in this venture, securing Bugatti and Rimac under one roof. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche, emphasized the merging of Bugatti's expertise in hypercars with Rimac's innovation in electric mobility.

This strategic move by the VW Group allows it to focus on mass-production brands and the transition to electric vehicles, while still benefiting from Bugatti's future profits through Porsche. Meanwhile, Porsche can tap into Rimac's electric expertise, benefiting other VW Group companies like Audi and Lamborghini.
